rant
It has certainly been a while since I've blogged, but there are a few AIESEC related issues that I need to write out.
Before I start my rant, I want to give mad props to everyone in AIESEC Cornell. Our LC is really starting to come together and fire on all cylinders. We doubled in size again, thanks to the efforts of the recruitment team and the Leadership team. The sales team is starting to get moving on ROKS sponsorship. Events Team is working on ROKS and then will hopefully be planning kick ass events for the entire Ithaca community. We are about to find out if the university will sponsor us to go to International Conferences. It looks as though Cornell will be represented at 5 of 6 international conferences, and maybe 6 of 6 if AI will let us sneak in 2 more ALDS delegates. Did I mention that we are holding ROKS in Ithaca??? Nick, our OCP has been working his boney ass off to get this conference rolling! It really goes to show that the most valuable resource in any organization is the human resources.
Now on to my rant. I feel very happy and proud of Cornell's accomplishments and the rate of our development. We were motivated by the dominance and success of other strong LCs in the northeast and I am worried that these power house LCs have reached their peak and are starting to fall. I don't see the smaller and unstable LCs mobilizing either, which worries me even more. We are currently in a time of great opportunity for AIESEC US and I would hate for any LC to be atrophying.
It is so crucial that this NE ROKS goes well, but for many different reasons, I don't feel the enthusiasm that I normally do for any AIESEC Conference. I'm starting to reconsider whether hosting this conference is worth all of the sacrifice of time, school work, and sleep that we have put in to it.
Northeast Beast, prove me wrong!
