I leave for Argentina in just over 12 hours. The past six months for me have been intense periods of change, adjustment, readjustment, packing, unpacking, highs, lows, and ultimately growth for better or for worth. I love what I'm doing and wouldn't change it for the world, but there is something to be said for stability. So i figure it's time for an update because many of you are not in the loop about what I've been up to and what I'm doing for the future.
· My internship ended at the end of January.
· I traveled on the Colombian Coast for 2 weeks with some special people.
· Came back to Bogota for a week or so and got matched to a traineeship with Amartya!!! (exactly what I wanted to do!!)
· Returned home to NYC and saw parents, friends, and mentors. (reason being the amount of junk I had accumulated in Colombia and because the plane ticket cost the same from NY as it did from Bogotá so I figured a week in NY would do me well).
· Took a trip up to Cornell to see friends and figure out my credit stance/re-enroll for next fall.
I can now honestly say that I'm tired and ready for the next step: Argentina! I really only have one fear; that I won't like it as much as my time in Colombia. This fear is slowly fading and I am expecting the slap in the face of culture shock again, but as they say, what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
Lot's of thoughts going on in my head right now and this isn't the medium to express them, but basically, I'm moving on into a state of newness while most people I know are back in the routine. I accept this because my routine will be unavoidable for the next two years so might as well enjoy the constant change while I can.
Oh shit, time to pack.
